Working with Interstate NRM Bodies

The Board works across interstate boarders with the following bodies to deliver NRM projects and initiatives:

Great Artesian Basin Coordinating Committee
The Great Artesian Basin Coordinating Committee (GABCC) was established early in 2004 to replace the Great Artesian Basin Consultative Council, which had ceased operation in December 2002. The primary role of GABCC is to provide advice from community organisations and agencies to Ministers on efficient, effective and sustainable whole-of-resource management and to coordinate activity between stakeholders.  http://www.gabcc.org.au/index.aspx

Desert Channels Queensland
Desert Channels Queensland Inc. is the body charged by the community and government with
ensuring a sustainable social, economic and environmental future for the Queensland section
of the Lake Eyre Basin. http://www.dcq.org.au/

 

Natural Resources Management Board NT 
The NRM Board (NT) Inc. has been established in order to implement a strategic approach to natural resource management through the Northern Territory Integrated Natural Resource Management  (INRM) Plan and Regional Investment Strategy (RIS), as agreed from time to time by the Northern  Territory and Commonwealth governments. http://www.nrmbnt.org.au/

Rangelands NRM Co-ordinating Group (WA)
The Rangelands NRM Co-ordinating Group is an incorporated association and regional representation with a focus on natural resource management (NRM).  As an incorporated association, the main purpose of the Rangelands NRM Co-ordinating Group is to represent community and government partnerships in natural resources management of Western Australia’s Rangelands. http://www.rangelandswa.info/default.asp

Western Catchment Management Austhority (NSW )
The Western Catchment Management Authority (WCMA) has been established to ensure the local community has a significant say in how natural resources (land, vegetation, rivers, groundwater and biodiversity),are managed. http://www.western.cma.nsw.gov.au/

Lake Eyre Basin Community Advisory Committee
The Lake Eyre Basin Community Advisory Committee provides community advice to Government on water and related natural resource issues in the Lake Eyre Basin. Many of its members live and work in the Lake Eyre Basin, and represent a wide range of community interests. http://www.lebmf.gov.au/cac/index.html

Desert Knowledge CRC
The Desert Knowledge CRC is a research and brokerage institution that links researchers with 28 partners. The Desert Knowledge CRC focuses these research efforts on creating useful  outcomes with commercial application for desert people, communities and our partners. These  partners provide in-kind and cash support to the Desert Knowledge CRC.  http://www.desertknowledgecrc.com.au/
